This site should work for you whatever you are reading it with.
How it is built
- Every page works with JavaScript switched off. Scripts only add the mobile menu and the section highlighting.
- Headings run in order, so screen-reader and keyboard navigation follows the structure of the page.
- Body text meets or beats the WCAG AA contrast ratio against the page background, and nothing important is carried by colour alone.
- Every link is reachable and visible with a keyboard, with a clear focus outline.
- There is a skip link at the top of every page.
- Illustrations carry alternative text; where an image is decorative it is marked as such so it is skipped rather than announced.
- If you have asked your system to reduce motion, all animation is switched off.
- Pages print cleanly, without the navigation and sidebars.
Reading difficulty
Reading level
Pages are written to be readable by someone around 12 to 14 years old. This is deliberate. The subject is hard enough without the prose being hard as well.
